Illustration / Comics
De erg
Over the course of five years of comics and illustration at erg, students are gradually led to solve a series of problems relating to narration and the shaping of a story. Based on their appetite for images and writing, and their personal interests and objectives, students are encouraged to bring together their thinking, practice and intuitions to produce a personal and unique work. Through assiduous practice, he/she will question the ethical and aesthetic stakes of his/her tools, and their impact on his/her purpose, drawing on a broad knowledge of what constitutes graphic literature today.
In the Master's program, each student's personal work is analyzed and critiqued. This narrative and iconographic analysis assesses inventiveness, understanding and awareness of narrative issues, while developing a global awareness of the medium through learning about both past and contemporary comics/illustration works. In this context, each student is asked to present a work of interest to them on a weekly basis, in order to encourage the transmission of knowledge.
