Collective practice / Artistic projects / Production box
De erg
Teacher : Colin Roustan
By sharing experiences and tools, the course aims to support collective and transdisciplinary practices at the erg. We will approach common moments as spaces for sharing, working and reflecting around one main question: "How to organize?" In this dynamic, we'll consider project management, whether individual or collective, as a practice and a means of expression.
By approaching the course and the erg gallery as contextual collective projects carried out jointly, we'll work together to define their objectives for the coming year and beyond. We'll be alternating between sharing experiences, collective work and individual follow-up to open up new avenues of reflection based on practical experience.
Over the course of a few months, participants will learn to use the tools needed to manage a collaborative artistic project (administration, budget management, scheduling, etc.) independently. Two interdependent practical areas are proposed as spaces for reflection and teaching: erg galerie and la boite de production.
erg Galerie is a space located at the erg entrance where teachers and students can organize exhibitions, discussions, masterclasses and other activities. These activities can be internal to the erg or open to the public. The gallery is managed by students, teachers and the erg administration. The aim is to initiate a process questioning its status and functioning.
Production box is part of a process to support and consider cross-disciplinary collective practices within the erg. The first year could, among other things, be devoted to a reflection on a possible form of ASBL for the school, i.e. one that responds to the cross-disciplinary practices on the move within the erg. The aim will be to consider an autonomous form of organization that can support the running of the gallery and cross-disciplinary collective projects.
- An elective course in the curriculum for students from BAC 3 to Master 2, which can also be taken as an internship.
- The erg's pedagogical project is built around various collective spaces that mobilize the school - teaching and administrative teams and students - within a specific, alternative ecosystem.
- It's a space for collective practice that questions this practice as intrinsically artistic.
