Aggregation

De erg

The Aggregation course, organized jointly by Erg and ESA Saint-Luc Brussels, trains future visual arts teachers, primarily at the level of upper secondary education (AESS). Centered on contemporary art, interdisciplinarity and research, this course is aimed at students with a bachelor's or master's degree in plastic, visual and spatial arts or those who are enrolled in a master's degree. long-type artistic higher education.

Building a pedagogy of art, designing a program of artistic courses, organizing a workshop requires us to place ourselves each time in a situation of questioning and to constantly question our knowledge, with the deliberate objective of being in phase with the contemporary research and creation, interdisciplinarity and new technologies, under penalty of teaching a knowledge that is sclerotic and unsuited to the demands of our time. The multidisciplinary practice, specific to teaching of the long type, finds in the student who chooses this specialization its natural extension. He can, through a set of theoretical courses, seminars, preparations and internships in the field, continue his research and his personal work by transposing this questioning into the field of teaching.

The philosophy of this training is above all to transmit a methodology (of research) transposable to other disciplines, to engage in a critical study and to implement strategies that can be adapted according to content, needs and people. Pedagogy has a history, specialists, practitioners who have implemented concepts, participated in its evolution and continue to make pedagogy a dynamic science at the service of education. The place occupied by the artistic disciplines within the major currents of thought, the integration of recent concepts linked to current debates and research, constitute essential objects of study for this type of teaching.

This is why part of the training focuses on socio-cultural, psychological and socio-affective knowledge. These specific studies must provide students with a reflection on the notion of transmission (interdisciplinary seminars, didactic transposition and integrated pedagogical training) and knowledge of diversified pedagogical practices (reading sheets of pedagogical books, learning and developed practices, etc.).

The training also consists of reflecting from research and expression tools (written and oral) on the best way to articulate knowledge, which allows the student to put into practice through observation internships. and active internships the newly acquired knowledge. Overall, the training aims to develop projection and anticipation skills, open-mindedness, flexibility and the ability to adapt to different situations. Consequently, we favor approaches that implement processes for the construction of knowledge and, through it, of a person.
