Videography at the erg develops two important directions: an aesthetic and theoretical reading of works in the form of analysis and discussion, and the establishment of a practice of video, mainly articulated around editing.

The objective is to allow students to acquire the basic notions of certain videographic practices, to introduce them to the artistic approaches of videographers and filmmakers (historical and contemporary), and to equip them with tools for critical analysis. certain structures of documentary, fictional or more experimental writing.

In parallel with the implementation of individual and/or collective practical research, students are invited to take part in the constitution of a body of work (experimental films, auteur films, films of the mainstream industry, literature, visual art, etc.), theoretical essays (philosophy, anthropology, etc.), and meetings with artists, etc., in order to develop in class and with the class a point of critical view of these forms in dialogue with their own practices.

-In this workshop, we will focus on collective practices specific to motion images production and we will question the challenges of these means of production. We will develop a discursive as well as practical research corpus that questions the existing relationships between image, aesthetic and production means. In the workshop, students will be invited to take part in the creation of the corpus as well as in the organisation of theoretical and practical research sessions by bringing and managing the material as well as being in charge of organising and supervising these collective work sessions. We will consider the work of an artist both from an individual and a collective point of view, in relation to one another in a specific environment.
