Teachers : Eleanor Ivory Weber, Guy Woueté

This seminar for L.I.E.N.S. Master's students supports the multidisciplinary workshop. It aims to deepen understanding of historical, material, contextual and production issues within twentieth- and twenty-first-century artistic practices, in order to enrich students' own practices.

This course is divided into two continuous parts, A and B, corresponding to the two quarters of the year: This seminar is a space for encountering documents, practices and artists who critically explore and observe society. Questions of coloniality, otherness, borders and migration never leave us. We experiment freely with the documents, texts and archives generated by decolonial practices from the 20th century to the present day. This seminar brings us into conversation with works, texts and artists who create ways of generating new, critical perspectives on society. In particular, we are interested in questions of institutional critique, feminism, trans-pedigree art, and time-based art (video, performance, installation).
