Eleanor Ivory Weber (AU) is a writer, editor and artist working in publication and performance.

E. Ivory Weber is an Australian writer and artist living in Brussels. Since 2018 she teaches art theory and critical practice at Erg (École de recherche graphique–école supérieure des arts), and is co-director of the literary press Divided Publishing.
She works with conceptual writing techniques to arrive at multi-vocal text compositions, combining formal structures with the spontaneity of the body. In 2017-19 she is researcher at a.pass (advanced performance and scenography studies), Brussels, where she teaches art history and theory at Erg (école de recherche graphique). In 2016 she had her first solo exhibition, “No Private Problems”, at M.I/mi1glissé, Berlin (curated by Joel Mu). She has presented her work in live, online, exhibition and print contexts including Établissement d'en face, Cave Club, Bâtard Festival, Damien & the Love Guru, Volksroom, La Loge, SB34–The Pool and Buenos Tiempos, Int., Brussels; After the Eclipse–Am Flutgraben, Berlin; Dortmunder Kunstverein, Dortmund; Galerie Joseph Tang and Paris Ass Book Fair–Palais de Tokyo, Paris; feeelings–Triangle France, Marseille; frieze magazine, Arcadia Missa, Vogue Fabrics (now VFD) and SALT., London; Dissect, RMIT Design Hub and West Space, Melbourne; Breezeblock, Marrickville Garage, SafARI and Serial Space, Sydney; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; and Repetition/s Performance Philosophy, Ljubljana. A work published in poetics journal Jacket2, Philadelphia, is her first appearance in the United States (2019). Among others, Eleanor has collaborated with artists Elena Betros López, Anastasia Freygang, Shian Law, Asta Meldal Lynge and Matte Rochford, and performed for artists Henry Andersen, Audrey Cottin, Dora García and Johanna Linsley. In 2012-14 Eleanor was co-director (with artist Iakovos Amperidis) of the art space 55 Sydenham Rd Marrickville NSW 2204 AU and simultaneously Assistant Curator, Photographs at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, both Sydney. She holds an Honours (Class 1) degree in Art History & Theory from The University of Sydney, with the thesis "A process without end: autonomous art structures and the politics of self-organisation" (2012). Eleanor has undertaken residencies at Shanghai Biennale, Shanghai (2012); Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2015); Kunsthaus KuLe, Berlin (2016); Oslo Art Weekend, Oslo (2016); and Triangle France, Marseille (as Divided, 2018). She is co-organiser of the 2019 edition of SpringMeeting, Performing Arts Forum, St Erme. Since 2015, she runs the art-and-writing platform EFFE (with Ella Sutherland), and in 2017 co-founded Divided Publishing (with Camilla Wills).

Ivory Weber holds a Master in Political Philosophy and Theory from Université Libre de Bruxelles, a Post-Master from a.pass (advanced performance and scenography studies) in Brussels, and a BA with First Class Honours in Art History & Theory from the University of Sydney. She is the 2022 recipient of the Flanders State of the Arts—Residency Unlimited artistic residency in New York City.

I am an artist and political philosopher interested in psychoanalysis, anachronism and the intellectual tradition of pessimism. I am lecturer in art history, theory and critical practice at Erg (École de recherche graphique–école supérieure des arts), Brussels, and co-director of Divided Publishing, Brussels and London. I hold a Master de spécialisation en Philosophie et Théorie Politiques from the Université Libre de Bruxelles and completed Post-Master studies at a.pass (advanced performance and scenography studies), Posthogeschool voor Podiumkunst, both Brussels. I received first class Honours in Art History & Theory from The University of Sydney.
