The central idea of the course is to offer students the tools to 'be at work' in an organic way and in continuity, by being confronted with modes of production that allow and encourage transformation and reinterpretation, through the use of forms of 'recycling', of 'translation'. And this in order to propose art as a story of a possible to tell. The story conveyed - as a bearer of potential for change - is just as important as the 'object' produced.

Investigative work from a specific place or situation (real or virtual), chosen by the student. The central idea of the course being to offer students tools to ‘be at the work’ in an organic way and in continuity, being confronted with modes of production that allow and encourage the transformation and reinterpretation, through the use of forms of ‘recycling’, of ‘translation’. And this in order to propose art as a story of a possibility to be told. The story conveyed – as a bearer of potential for change – being just as important that the ‘object’ produces.

The goal is to allow students to acquire a range of possible tools for transforming the documentary material collected during the investigative work, into one or more forms / formats that can be shared with an audience. Treatment of “traces” as matter to be transformed and told.

- Phase 1: work of observation and impregnation (approach to the place: taking notes – photo, text, drawing, video, sound … / research of documentation: articles, texts, various documents)

- Phase 2: work of analysis and identification of personal avenues of work (definition of the angle of approach to the question(s))

- Phase 3: production of a visual, auditory or performative object – which stems directly from the work of investigation and research, and which is not an accumulation of documents, but a work of 'digestion' and formatting ( the final format is very free, it can be linked to the modes of expression of choice, or on the contrary be an opportunity to confront unusual mediums for the student.e)
