Managing the BàG

The operation of the BàG has been in place since its launch (currency, supply of materials, layout of the premises, identity, offices, communication, etc.). These elements must be adjusted each year with the new team investing in the project. At the same time, other missions, depending on the desires of each person and the needs observed in the school.

The course content develops with the participants based on three axes:

-settle in a space:

Appropriate and arrange the premises, surroundings and spaces linked to the operation of the BàG, so that you feel good there and that they are functional. Create bridges with other projects and people in the school so that the BàG participates in creating links. Use the tools available.

tools/resources/ideas:

training at the NES, one-week moving workshop, participation in the sustainable development unit, reflection on waste management methods in the school, link with EAT, cargo bike training...

-settle into a project:

Be responsible for a reuse materials store within the ERG. Make the BàG function according to everyone's time and energy (flow of materials, management of premises, link between users through office hours, partnership in the school, festive events, etc.). Manage a project that motivates and positively influences the journey of students in the school.

tools/resources/ideas:

definition of precise roles and working groups according to sensitivities, calendar and instructions for use of office hours, collection card outside of school, use of the BàG's digital tools, updating of the Bàg's collective binder , grouping of know-how from the Fédération des Récupérathèques (Récupédia, Discord, annual meeting, support staff)...

-settle into a collective:

Learn and experience managing a project in supported autonomy. Build formal and informal links within the group and with the BàG. The goal is to build a safe place, where we share the workload, where everyone seeks the place that suits them while being attentive to others and to the dynamic that is created within the group. Experiencing moments together and seeing where collective strength can take us.

introduction to the tools of shared governance and collective intelligence (communication by gestures, weather, moments of regulation, speech, active listening, etc.), facilitation of weekly meetings, operating and co-construction charter, informal moments ...
