About the erg website

The Erg website is the state of the art of a process, it is a constantly evolving form.

Articulated as a platform, it proposes a user's guide of the erg (detailed inventory of courses, technical, theoretical and collective tools and restitutes their interactions) and aggregates the news of course blogs, satellite sites and other traces of the erg's activities.

Several graphic interfaces are invited to cohabit, highlighting specific aspects of the contents: cartography, index, image gallery, videos; as many possible reading spaces.

Work sessions in the form of workshops open to all were organized from July 2017 to July 2018 in order to think about the edition of the site in a collective way and to realize alternative navigation modes. The sources of the site are accessible on Gitlab, and they are physically registered in the school on a local server (Raspberry Pi).

erg-wiki

The content creation structure of the site is a mediawiki which is like a big directory that gathers and organizes all the elements that make up the erg and the links that connect them.

Thus, the erg site is organized in a rhizomic structure of contents, whose hypertextual fabric proposes a horizontal vision of the school. Categories group together in archipelagos information that share common aspects.

At the same time, this wiki aggregates the contents and traces of activities coming from different sources that constitute The erg's satellite sites. Thus, it appears as a super-archive of the erg, as much as a curatorial space or an instruction manual. All the documents, images, videos and posts published by the community are thus gathered in one place and redistributed on the erg.be site.

Navigation

From this material, two navigation modes are currently proposed: a visual cartography that shows the different elements of the site and the relationships between them, and a reading interface. The latter can also be consulted through the menu.
