De erg

Teacher : Sébastien Biset

This course examines 19th-century painting, focusing on the major moments of rupture and mutation, through to the processes of destructuring instituted by modern art, and the transition from an absolute, stable space and time (Newtonian) and an art of representation, to a pluritė of relative space-time (Einsteinian) and to an art of presence and instability, of the discontinuous and heterogeneous, based on the interaction of constituent elements and the involvement of the viewer's gaze in the completion of the work (optical blending). He pays close attention to the context in which the works are created: artists' biographies, political, religious and socio-economic history, the history of ideas and other arts.
