Seeing, learning to see, awakening students to the perception of color (the eye as a tool). Understand through experience the notions specific to color, read colors, name them, translate them, mix them, manipulate, distribute, experiment, awaken to the sensation of color. Thinking about the colored palette according to a singular context.

The course also addresses different contemporary artistic contexts that place color at the heart of concerns: several artists will be presented for their artistic commitment to a singular context of society, territory, ecology, history, ... and the impact of it on the field of color.  
  
We will technically work on the impact of matter, the (in)dependence of colour, light and form, the different logics of assembly, reconstruction via diversion, tactile, discontinuous, rhythm, time, scale, trace, irony,... Spark practices of observation, classification, comparison, analysis and challenge. Develop perceptive qualities through the pleasure of looking at things.

The course is envisaged as a workshop, a laboratory where the student discovers color through experimentation.  
  
Opt for a contextual approach, in touch with concrete situations and places and according to circumstances. The rigorous learning of the essential properties of colour: the fundamental parameters, simultaneous and successive contrasts, the chromatic range, modulations, subtractive, additive and partial syntheses.
