Le cours aborde l’évolution des représentations de l'Autre dans l’art, l’iconographie et les musées occidentaux, les relations entre les avant-gardes historiques européennes et  les arts non-européens (arts de l’Afrique subsaharienne, arts océaniens, arts amérindiens) ainsi que les emprunts qui ont contribué au renouvellement des paramètres esthétiques de l’art occidental.

His practice is widely spread within the field of independent animation - working at the intersection of traditional hand-drawn animation and cutting edge web technologies.  
  
Il approche également la spécificité des productions artistiques identifiées par des classifications culturelles telles que : art contemporain africain, islamique, brésilien, chinois, afro-américain dans le champ élargi de la création artistique d’aujourd’hui dans une perspective critique et contextualise diverses problématiques liées à la mondialisation, au post-colonialisme et au multiculturalisme à travers les œuvres d’artistes et théoriciens contemporains.

Based on his background(s) between making personal animated films, creative programming, academic research, education and curatorial endeavors Juan will offer exchange and project mentoring to a group of our students throughout the entire academic year 2021/22. In a workshop week at our long term partner [https://projectionroomblog.wordpress.com/ Projection Room] , followed by individual- and group online sessions, he will share his passion of exploring aesthetic and narrative forms of animation using emerging digital tools, particularly open-source software / hardware and programming.

From the coming week on we welcome (and we are VERY happy to say: physically!) our friend and collegue Juan-Camilo Gonzales from Bogota, Columbia.

His practice is widely spread within the field of independent animation - working at the intersection of traditional hand-drawn animation and cutting edge web technologies.

Based on his background(s) between making personal animated films, creative programming, academic research, education and curatorial endeavors Juan will offer exchange and project mentoring to a group of our students throughout the entire academic year 2021/22. In a workshop week at our long term partner Projection Room , followed by individual- and group online sessions, he will share his passion of exploring aesthetic and narrative forms of animation using emerging digital tools, particularly open-source software / hardware and programming.
