Maria Nadotti: bell hooks, John Berger and how gaze is political

This speech is part of a series of guest lectures, in the frame of the workshops “Animation as contre-champ” facilitated by Francesca Cogni.

Maria Nadotti is a journalist, essayist and translator. Beside being the translator of the works of John Berger and bell hooks in Italian, she was a friend of both oh them, framing her work on the texts in a long series of conversations and collaborations during many years. In her intervention on the 8th of march - the day of women fight - , she will propose a collective thought about gaze, marginality and representation: moving between the oppositional gaze theorised by bell hooks, and the (political) relation between looking and drawing in John Berger, Maria Nadotti will engage a conversation with the students of the class “Animation as contre-champ” and all other interested students.

When: 8th March, 6pm
