Denise Ferreira da Silva holds the inaugural chair in Ethics (School of Business and Management) and the Directorship of the Centre for Ethics and Politics at Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL). From a feminist and black radical perspective, her writing addresses the conceptual, political, ethical challenges of the global present. She intervenes in the fields of Political Theory, Critical Legal Theory, Critical Racial and Ethnic Studies, Global/Postcolonial Studies, and Cultural Studies. Her publications include Toward a Global Idea of Race (Minnesota, 2007) ; “No-bodies : Law, Raciality and Violence” (Griffith Law Review, 2009) ; the special issue on “Race, Empire, and the Subprime Crisis” (American Quarterly, 2012), and “To Be Announced : Radical Praxis or Knowing (at) the Limits of Justice” (Social Text, 2013). She co-edits the Routledge book series Law and the Postcolonial : Ethics, Politics, and Economy.
